Join us at Experiment PDX, one of our favorite Portland spots, for a very exciting wine tasting + science talk! How might science and wine and scicomm intersect, you ask?
Scott Burns (Professor Emeritus of Geology at Portland State University) will speak about the wines' terroir, or the environmental factors and growing conditions such as soil composition, climate, microclimate, elevation and more that shape each wine's unique character.
This event will be open to the public and space is limited. Proof of age must be shown for attendees to participate in tasting. Additional glasses of wine (in addition to the tasting) will be available for purchase by the glass.
Doors open at 7pm. Tasting & talk begin at 7:30pm.
